Scouts BSA has a variety of training available to adults that are involved in Scouting because our Scouts deserve trained Leaders.

Scouts BSA – Adult Training Home

Youth Protection Training (YPT) is at the top of the list. YPT training is recommended for any adult involved with the Pack. Any adult who will spend time with Scouts should take YPT training and obtain a YPT certificate. A YPT certificate is good for 2 years. Why me? There are rules about how adults interact with Scouts, which help to keep both Scouts and adults safe.

The Pack can not function without parent support and Pack Leaders. We are so grateful for dedicated adults that agree to be Leaders! Leadership positions do have some training requirements (all online) that offer useful information for the position that you are taking on. If you have any training questions (where to find classes, how long do they take, what to take), consult the link above or ask any current Leader. If they don’t know, our Pack Trainer will have the answer.

There is also some great supplemental training available beyond required training.
